Protest rally in Delhi, bandh in hills today

Manipur Tribal Forum Delhi (MTFD) would be organising a mass protest rally on Saturday (December 18) in Delhi demanding introduction of the HAC recommended ADC Bill, 2021 in the Manipur Legislative Assembly in support of the collective tribal movement being spearheaded by All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM), Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO-GHQ) and All Naga Students' Association of Manipur (ANSAM) over the same demand.
In a release, ATSUM information and publicity secretary Khaiminlen Doungel informed that in line with the scheduled mass rally in Delhi, it has simultaneously called a total shutdown in the entire hill districts of Manipur on December 18 from 5 am to 5 pm.
While reiterating the demand for tabling of the ADC Bill, 2021, ATSUM appealed all to support the ADC Bill movement till the demand is fulfilled.
Inconveniences caused due to the total shutdown called for assertion of constitutional rights, is deeply regretted, it added.
Meanwhile, KSO Churachandpur and Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) have extended support to the total shutdown call on December 18.In a release, KSO Churachandpur informed that no water supply, airport travel, business establishments, government and private offices, religious or traditional programme, medical checkups and vehicular movement of any kind will be permitted during the bandh period.
