Workshop on basic health care, cultural diversity held in Ukhrul

A two-day training workshop cum seminar on Basic Health Care & Preventive Measures and Cultural Diversity among the Tribal Population of Manipur was held on July 14-15 at the Phungreitang West community hall in Ukhrul.
Organized by Ardent Foundation - Service in Allegiance, Ukhrul, the District AIDS Officer, Dr AS Kapangring and District Fishery Officer AC Khamsing spoke as resource persons at the workshop.
Speaking on the topic of basic health care & preventive measures, Dr Kapangring highlighted various general guidelines and basic health regime that one could follow religiously to stay healthy.
He advocated healthy lifestyle and timely seeking of medical attention like vaccination.
On day second, AC Khamsing elaborated on how Tangkhul culture coexists with the culture of other tribals of Manipur.
He then expounded the myriad significances of Tangkhul culture and festivals like Jamphu, Mangkhap, Luira etc, while calling for safeguarding them in the contemporary generation.
Ardent Foundation convenor Ng Ngareophung gave the vote of thanks.
The workshop was also attended by social leaders, Government officials, church leaders and public.
