State logs two deaths, 102 new cases

Imphal, February 15 2022:
The state on Tuesday reported 102 fresh cases of Covid-19 out of 1815 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering a positivity rate of 5.62 per cent, a slight drop from Monday's 5.72 per cent.
Tuesday also reported two death cases which took the fatality tally to 2086.They were residents of Imphal East and Senapati districts.
Both of them had received second dose of Covid vaccine.
The virus has claimed lives of 181 vaccinated people of which 555 had received second doses, till date.
In the last 24 hours, 131 patients were discharged from home isolation (99), RIMS (6), JNIMS (9) and CCCs (17).The active caseload came down to 2178 out of which 472 (21.67 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 251 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 113 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, five did not report any fresh Covid cases on Tuesday.
So far, the state has recorded 10244 positive cases and 84 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 2776 new positive cases and 40 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 862 and 14 respectively.
According to official reports, the 102 fresh cases included 100 people (53 male & 47 female) from among the general population and 2 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (7), JNIMS (8) and other testing centres (87) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (21), Imphal West (40), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (15), Kakching (4), Kangpokpi (2), Tengnoupal (1), Ukhrul (8), Senapati (2), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (3) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,032 (general population - 1,31,033 and CAPF personnel - 4,999).Number of recovered cases is 1,31,768 (general population - 1,26,835 and CAPF personnel - 4,933) and number of active cases is 2178 (general population - 2119 and CAPF personnel - 59).The recovery rate is 96.87 per cent.
A total of 453 D-type and 119 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 5721 vaccine doses were administered on Monday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 14,87,455, out of which 10,98,960 had received second doses and 51,030 had taken precautionary doses.
The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,356), Imphal East (30,210), Thoubal (10,071), Churachandpur (11,003), Kangpokpi (3098), Tamenglong (3446), Bishnupur (9741), Senapati (2455), Ukhrul (3215), Kakching (6830), Chandel (2674), Noney (1144), Tengnoupal (1184), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1031) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (696), Imphal East (502), Thoubal (186), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (15), Bishnupur (201), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (120), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,839 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,452 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,01,421 tests per million population against the national average of 5,37,123 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.53 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1815 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 5.62 per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.74 per cent.
