Gifts presented to differently abled

Gifts and presents were distributed among differently abled persons on the occasion of the 16th Foundation Day Celebration of the International Handicapped Welfare Mission Manipur held at the Korouhanba Shanglen, Moidangpok, Imphal West, today.
The function was graced by MLA K Sharat and Th Gambhir Meitei, Pradhan, Moidangpok Gram Panchayat as Chief Guest and President respectively.
Film actor and singer Hamom Sadananda, Chief Editor of Naharolgee Thoudang, Khoirom Loyalakpa and artist Y Nilacahandra were also present as Guests of Honour.
Speaking at the occasion MLA K Sarat said that he has been giving out pensions to differently abled persons of his constituency from his own pocket.
These pensions will not be given to them only during the tenure of his term as MLA, but also even after he retires from politics.
A rest house will also be built from the MLA Local area development fund.
He also declared that 100% of all PDS item allotted to the constituency will be distributed to the public if he is re-elected.
If the problems of the general public are to be removed, the people need to elect the right candidate who will sacrifice for the welfare of the people.
Khoirom Loyalakpa observed that there is the need to bring out a specific policy for the differently abled persons.
The little things done by the government for themis just a show to the public.
The state will develop only when the general public learn to elect a true leader who really cares for the people and not his pocket, he said.
