The dwellers of Lamphel Yaima Leikai who has been displaced of their habitation by the government for the construction of NIT complex and to establish a wetland water body has pressed the state government to provide an alternative arrangement for them to dwell in or give back their deprived places.

But the government issued an eviction order on June 5 and ordered the dwellers to dismantle the houses.
Then suddenly on 6 June, the authority came and evicted all the houses in the area and made the people homeless.
The JAC have time and again requested and submitted a memorandum to the CM demanding an alternative arrangement.
But the government paid no heed to their demands.
As such the people of the area have been suffering without any place to stay at present.
The state government should make an alternative arrangement in the interest of the people.
