Border immunisation programme

As a part of MCUP-11, a medical team of Primary Health Centre, Moreh led by its District Immunisation Officer Dr S Priyokumar Singh carried out mass immunisation programme at 12 villages under New Samtal and Molcham divisions from October 22 till 24, said a statement.
It is informed that the Moreh PHC team also comprising of External Monitor Dr Ng Tomba Singh, MO Ayush Dr Kh Shantikumar Singh along with support staff of PHC and BPMU Moreh, reached the border villages namely New Samtal and Molcham through Myanmar road.
Unlike the past, the Myanmar authorities did not allow vehicles of the PHC team to ply on the Myanmar side, but permitted the team to hire vehicle from Myanmar in order to reach the villages, the statement said.
with the Myanmar vehicle dropping before reaching the designated villages, the team had to walk for about 4 kms to reach the destination along with the huge cold box, medicine and other essential commodities.
Since it was difficult to carry the Cold box, medicine and other essential commodities a bullock cart had to be hired for carrying these items to reach the village, it informed adding that inspite of facing great difficulties measles immunisation, routine immunisation, free medical and AYUSH camps.
