Imphal, October 25 2011:
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) which was formed in connection with the killing of Mutum Jewel alias Manichandra Singh of Bishnupur Ward no.8, who was a student of class VI in Bishnupur Public School, has appealed to the Chief Minister for necessary intervention in finding out the truth behind the killing.
Submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister, the Convenor of the JAC pointed out that the Bishnupur Police, which is handling the case, has not communicated anything to the JAC even after expiry of the five days deadline served.
So, as the guardian of the people, the Chief Minister ought to intervene and ensure revelation of the truth behind the case at the earliest possible.
The JAC has also warned of taking recourse to intense agitation, if its demand is not met.
