Kohima, October 10 2013 :
In a move to promote indigenous Naga food, Synergy Group Enterprise (SGE) in collaboration with the Nagaland government will organise a grand cooking competition in the state capital Kohima on October 26.The event has been christened as 'Naga Chef' .

They said prpmoting ones' culture should also mean promoting the indigenous food of the community and without which it will be an incomplete exercise.
"An attempt on improving the Naga cuisine is an effort of taking the Naga food to a higher level of appeal which in turn will become a marketable quality of international palate while maintaining the pristine Naga cuisine," said the SGE members.
Meanwhile, registrations have begun with about 40 applicants to participate in the October 26 event.
The registration will end on October 17 and the screening will be done on October 19 .
The organisers have doled out Rs 8 lakh as prize money.
The winner of the competition will be richer by Rs 5 lakh while the remaining amount will be shared by the rest.
