FOLLOWING A reported threat by a militant group operating in the hill areas of the state on their monetary demand, oil tankers and LGP laden trucks that left Imphal today to procure petroleum products from outside the state turned back from Kangpokpi area along the NH-39, reports said.
The report said that today morning as usual, oil tankers including the trucks carrying LPG for the Sekmai bottling plant left Sekmai at around 9 am.
They were dropped upto Kangpokpi by a police team for their further journey.
They crossed Kangpokpi at around 3 pm but after sometimes, the trucks turned back towards Imphal.
Some of them turned back from Maram and Mao area, the report said.
Reports said that the vehicles returned back without further proceeding as they were threatened to meet a huge monetary demand serve by them earlier.
