Chief Minister, various political leaders, ranks of Army, social organisations and individuals have greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha.
In his message, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi said, "Id-ul-Zuha reminds us of the supreme sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim for the sake of mankind.
Let his sacrifice inspire us to dedicate ourselves to all causes that are good and noble and work for the betterment of humanity at large" .
May the occasion also spread the message of friendship and forgiveness among the people for a more peaceful and prosperous Manipur, the CM wished.
In his message, Speaker Dr S Budhichandra said, "I wish that the festival would be the occasion for bringing peace, prosperity and brotherhood in the society.
I hope that the festival will increase love, sacrifice, harmony and unity among the people of the State irrespective of caste and creed" .
Deputy Speaker Th Shyamkumar has also greeted the people of the State on this occasion.
Shyamkumar urged the people of the State to learn to sacrifice like Hazarat Ibrahim.
He also wished to regain tranquillity with the coming of this auspicious day.
MPCC president Gaikhangam, Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency MP Dr T Meinya have also greeted the people of the State on the occasion.
IGAR (South) Maj Gen AK Chaudhury, Inspector General Assam Rifles and all ranks of Assam Rifles have also extended warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha.
The IGAR (S) said, "May this festival herald an era of peace, peace progress and prosperity in the region and enhance the spirit of unity, cohesiveness and brotherhood amongst warm and friendly people of the State".
Extending its wishes to the people of the State, All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) said that the organisation will celebrate the festival in collaboration with All Yairipok United Clubs Organisation (AYUCO) at Ningthounai Primary School, Yairipok.
All Manipur Muslim Girl Students union president M Rukshar Choudhury, United People's Front (UPF) Manipur, MPP Minority Cell, Social United Club Organisation (SUCO) also greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha.
