IN THE continuing drive of closing down schools having classes upto Standard IV which are not yet introducing Meetei Mayek scripts text books, MEELAL has observed violation by in two more schools, a statement of the body said today.
The schools were Utlou Primary School and Changangei Uchekon Lower Primary School but the schools have been left with no action to close down following the assurance from the head of the schools to introduce Meetei Mayek text books from the next year session, the MEELAL said.The statement further said that the volunteers of the body have launched the drive after they had asked all concerns to replace Bengali script text books by Meetei Mayek text within a short period of time.
Those who violate it and still continue to study Bengali script books will be treated as those who do not want to revived the indigenous script of the land.
It also once again appealed to the school authorities to introduce Meetei Mayek text books to their students.
