FATYCM objects to inclusion of SC in Tribal Affairs Dept

Imphal, August 18 2014:
Federation of All Tribal Youth Clubs, Manipur (FATYCM) has strongly opposed the alleged inclusion of Scheduled Castes (SC) in the Tribal Affairs and Hills Department.
According to its president R.Asing, the inclusion of SC in the Tribal Affair and Hills department is highly condemnable as Tribal Affairs and Hills is purely to deal with the tribal affairs alone.
FATYCM further condemned the 20 sitting tribal MLAs in the state who are not able to safeguard tribal peoples' rights and said that the cabinet decision taken on July 11, 2014 regarding the inclusion of the SC in the Tribal Affairs and Hills department be treated as null and void.
All matters relating to SC and their welfare, which was with the Directorate of Minorities, other Backward Classes & Scheduled Castes department was transferred to the Directorate of Tribal Affairs & Hills as "Department of Tribal Affairs, Hills and Scheduled Department through the cabinet meeting held on July 11 .
FATYCM also condemned the acts of Principal Secretary (TA, H & C), government of Manipur, S..KDev Verman and Joint secretary (TA, H & SC), government of Manipur, George K Maram who signed the orders.
