JAC to launch protest

Joint Action Committee (JAC) Against the Proposed Imphal Ring Road (Tharon to Lanthungching village) has decided to launch protest against the ongoing plan to acquire the residential areas of Langol Tarung area and the shifting of alignment for the Greater Imphal Ring Road during the initial survey to take route from Iroisemba through the field of Lamphelpat, Thangmeiband Watham Leirak to join the NH-39 from the point of Assembly building and High Court side.
The public meeting held on November 11 last at Tarung Community Hall, resolved to urge the government of Manipur not to encroach Tharon, Tarung, Neikanlong RNBA place, Grace Colony, Guigailong, Laimanai, Lanthungching and Housing Complex along the Langol foothills in the plan for the said Ring Road.
The JAC Strongly condemned the attempt to violate the human rights under the UN Charter and the Indian Constitution Article 13 (2) which nullifies the making of laws which tend to take away the rights conferred to the extent of the contravention, the JAC said in a release.
