Imphal, June 10 2013:
All Manipur MBBS/BDS 2013 Entrance Examination Parents/Guardians Association has urged the authority concerned to hold Common Entrance Test (CET)-2013 of MBBS and BDS within a short period in public interest.
K Arun Meitei, Secretary of the Association newly formed by parents of those students who applied for CET but denied the same by a notification of Directorate of Health Services Manipur, maintained that there is no judgement or order of any court including the Supreme Court of India prohibiting the test that has to be conducted by any states of India.
Even after admit cards have been issued to 5753 candidates, the exam, which was scheduled to held on 9th June, had been cancelled by a notification dated 7/6/2013 much to the shock of the candidates and their parents.
Those students who have applied for the entrance test have spent huge amount of money in preparation for the test.
Besides, the state government has collected huge money from the students.
At this juncture, the said notification of cancelling the examination caused a hue and cry among the public, Arun noted.
He also informed that many candidates have been allotted examination centre outside the state in spite of their choice at Imphal centre.
Because of this many students who can't afford expenditures for travel and accommodation could not appear for the examination outside the state.
