Addressing media persons at Paomei Colony here today, Soso Lohrii, President of NPF, said that Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has been making speeches which are communal in nature and trying to gain political mileage out of it.
So it is the right time to remove Gaikhangam from his post as Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister.

It is an attempt to mislead the people of the State and is very unfortunate, he added.
Soso Lohrii asserted that the decision of NPF to join hands with opposition parties of the State and uproot the Congress from the State.
Uprooting Congress is the primary objective of NPF.
The Deputy Chief Minister should clarify at the earliest on the charges he made against NPF as a party coming to destroy Manipur.
If such undemocratic and communal statements are made again, the matter would be brought up at the level of the Governor.
The NPF would go with the opposition parties in all common programmes and it would also support in bringing up a common candidate in the Lok Sabha election, he added.
A Aza, Vice President of NPF was also present during the press conference.
