UKLF greets tribals

The United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has greeted the tribals of the state on the oncoming Manipur tribal cultural exchange programme to be held on from March 4 to 6 at Ukhrul district HQ and appealed to all tribes to embrace and participate in such initiatives.
UKLF's information and publicity secretary JM Zou, in an email statement said that since its formation in 2000, the UKLF has been fighting for a movement of reunification of all Kuki s for harmony with the rest of the tribes in Manipur.
Such cultural exchange programs will pave a way for mutual understanding and collaboration.
JM Zou solicited the blessings of God for a bumper tribal cultural exchange programme and to foster a healing and reconciliation within communities; to focus on the oneness as Christians.
He thanked the central and state government officials along with United Naga Council (UNC) president Ramson Remei and Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) president Thangkhosei Haokip for gracing the inaugural function and participating in the event.
He made special mention of Thangkhosei Haokip, president KIM for his acceptance in endorsing the appeal and request of the UKLF to organise such cultural programme of reconciliation and healing as this will help in sorting out past differences between the Kuki and Nagas, and also thanked him for his efforts and support to the UKLF's cause and aims, and that the UKLF will always support the activities of KIM.
The statement also assured that the UKLF will always support any effort or initiative taken by any party for building greater reconciliation between tribes, as harmony and peace are the very essence of a healthy society and prayed for blessings for the tribal people of Manipur.
