Agri Dept to induct mobile mini rice mill

The Farm Mechanisation Unit of State Agriculture Department will soon have a mobile mini rice mill.
The Unit has also ordered a mini oil extractor mill and a mini dal mill from a Gujarat based company.
It was informed by Additional Chief Engineer and in-charge of Farm Mechanisation Unit, K Manoranjan while speaking as chief guest at an farmers' awareness cum seed distribution programme held at Laphupat Tera today.
He added that the mobile rice mill would move around at different places in order to provide the facility to all the people of the State.
As all the three mills have inbuilt generator systems, there would not be any problem of unavailability of electric power supply, K Manoranjan said.
Today's awareness programme was jointly organised by Nongchup Imphal Loumi-Sinmi Chaokhat Thourang Lup and Kha Apunba Loumi Lup under the aegis of Cotton Development Officer of State Agriculture Department.
ICDP (Rice) scheme in-charge L Ibomcha was the guest of honour of the function.
While giving his speech, L Ibomcha informed the gathering that Agriculture Department has made available of hybrid variety of rice PAC-807 and IR-64 to the farmers and NGOs free of cost for pre-Kharif farming.
Maintaining that the Department has set a target of farming the two varieties of rice in 50 paris this year, K Manoranjan said that the concerned officials have taken up necessary measures to farm the varieties in Chandel and Senapati districts as well.
Paddy seeds of PAC-807 and IR-64 were distributed to selected farmers of Laphupat Tera in the function.
Oil Seed and Pulses Scheme in-charge Ch Jugindro and NIPCO President L Khuplar were also present in the function as guests of honour while Uchiwa Zila Parishad Member O Thambal presided over the function.
