Troops of Assam Rifles gunned down a youth said to be underground at Teisha Dung village of Chandel district even as two activists of KCP were nabbed in other counter insurgency operations in the last 24 hour.
Troops of 8 AR gunned the suspected underground during an operation in general area of the Teisha Dung village of Chandel district yesterday at about 7.45 pm.

The underground was killed after a heavy volume of exchange of fire.
He could be one Noren, 24 of Awang Sekmai, Leimakhong as revealed by the locals.

A KCP cadre was also apprehended by the troops of 21 AR from the general area of Longmedong identified as Huidrom Okpak @ Birkram, 22 son of N Pishak Macha of Longmedong Mamang Leikai today at about 6 am.
Troops of 28 AR who also opened a mobile vehicle check post in general area at Canchipur Bazar apprehended a KCP (Noyon) cadre yesterday at about 12.30 pm.
He was identified as Priyo Kumar alias Thoungamba, 25, son of Ibomcha of Thangmeiband.
A pocket dairy, a wallet, an income card and two identity cards have been recovered from the apprehendee.
He has been handed over to the Singjamei police station, the statement added.
