State works Minister K Ranjit today inspected developmental works taken up in his home constituency, Sugnu Assembly Constituency under the MLA's Local Area Development Fund (LADF) along with officials of the departments concerned.
The Minister after inspecting the construction works of a community hall at Nongyaikhong at an estimated cost of Rs 15 lakh, also inaugurated market shed at Wangoo �n Marup Bazar, a public pond dig at a cost of Rs 3 lakh at Wangu Laipham and a public ground there at a cost of Rs 1 lakh.
The minister also handed over Rs 1 lakh each to the village authorities of Chairel Awang and Makha Leikai for construction of public crematorium.
He also inspected the road improvement works of Ethai Barrage to Sugunu taken up under the PMGSY scheme at a cost of Rs 5.71 crore.
According to the minister, the road will be developed as intermediate standard road.
The black topping works at most part of the stretch have been completed and now only 13.5 km is left for the work.
He also informed that a draft project report for improving the Wangoo-Moirang road has also been submitted to the Union ministry of DoNER for funding under Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resource (NLCPR).
Ranjit also informed the media accompanied his tour that improvement works of 36 kilometer long Wabagai Lamkhai to Sugnu state highway will be taken up during the current working season.
Later, speaking at a public meeting held at Wangoo Laipham, the minister said that as he could not fulfilled desire of the people of his constituency at a time, he has started taken up developmental works step by step.
He also appealed the gathering to lodge complaint with him any of the works taken up in the area are found sub-standard.
