Imphal, December 31, 2009: Following disclosure made by four activists of KCP(MC) of Lamyanba Khuman faction, Imphal East district police has established some clues behind the kidnapping of two officials of the Airtel Click Communication and that of the murder of a farmer from Chingmeirong recently, SP Imphal East, Th Radheshyam claimed today.

Four activists of KCP (MC) Lamyanba Khuman including two women were apprehended by a team of the Imphal east police commandos today at about 10.30 am from near the Porompat Crossing on Ayang Palii Road only some meter away from the Imphal east police district headquarters.

The two female activists were identified as Senjam (N) Waikhom (O) Petershori @ Kritika (23), wife of W Ajit of Khurai Thingom Leirak and Laishram (N) Memi Devi (28) wife of Julon of Upokpi Laiharaopham Manak while the two male activists were identified as Karam Abungcha @ Meejao son of late K Shamu of Lamphel Yaipha Leikai.

From the four activists, police commandos also recovered one AK-56 assault rifles, a lathod launcher gun, three magazines of AK-56 rifles, five lathod bombs, one magazine pouch, 50 rounds of AK-56 live ammunition and one Chinese Hand Grenade.

While producing two male arrestees at the office complex of the Imphal east district police, SP, Th Radheshyam said that all the four activists were involved in various crimes.

During interrogation, police also came to know some clues of some crimes, he added.

As per discloser made by them, police came to know names two activists of the group who murdered one Kuber, a farmer from Chingmeirong Anikarak after taken away with five other workers at his field in November last at Mapou Thangal as one Boy and Kakabi of same locality with the deceased farmer.

A team of Bishnupur police commandos had killed Boy in an encounter, Radheshayam revealed.

The SP further revealed that names of the eight persons who were behind the kidnapping of two officials of the Airtel Click who had been rescued by a combined force of police commandos and Assam Rifles.

The officials were kidnapped under the commando of one Mani.

Other were identified as self style sergeant major of the group Leingakpa @ Eyamba of Phumlou, Meejao @ Mahesh @ Abungcha, Laba, Macha of Tera, Thoibi, Boy @ Shushil and Kakabi.

Thoibi and Laba had been killed during the rescued operation of the kidnapped official, the SP stated.
