Chief Minister O ibobi Singh, MPP president Dr Nimaichand Luwang and GOC 57 Mountain Division Maj Gen DS Hooda along with other organisations have conveyed greetings to the people of Manipur on the arrival of the New Year 2010 .
In his message, the CM said the year 2009 had seen 'us passing through many difficult hurdles' and expressed hope 2010 will be a year of peace and prosperity.
Let us put our heads and hearts together to build a Manipur to step in the horizon of the 21st century, the message added.
Greeting the people on the arrival of the New Year, Maj Gen Hooda on behalf of ranks of the Red Shield Division said the New Year is a time to express gratitude to the Almighty for continuous blessings, love, compassion and kindness.
May the year 2010 usher an era of bonhomie, harmony and self respect for all, the GOC maintained.
IG AR (S) Maj Gen CA Krishnan and all ranks of Assam Rifles have also wished the people of Manipur a very happy and prosperous new year.
DGAR Lt Gen KS Yadava has also extended his New Year greetings from Shillong with prayer to Almighty for peace, progress and prosperity for the people of Manipur, conveyed an AR PRO release.
While conveying his new year wish, MPP president Dr Nimaichand wryly remarked that as crime rate in 2009 was very high in Manipur, it could be safely concluded that State terrorism had been a substantial contribution to the turmoil.
He, however, called upon the people to strive and promote peace and prosperity in 2010 .
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Manipur Pradesh, Zeliangrong Students' Union (Barak valley), All Manipur Bar Association, Manipur State Council of Communist Party of India, Social Volunteers' Association and Patsoi Kendra Development Council also wished the people happiness and prosperity in the year 2010 .
