Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has informed that the State Government would formally recommend to the CBI to take over the July 23 Khwairamband Bazar case after a Cabinet decision, on receiving the formal directive of the order passed by the Division Bench of the Gauhati High Court.
Talking to some reporters today, the Chief Minister explained that the judicial inquiry into the incident has been instituted as the Government wants to find out the truth.
The State Government has already discussed the matter related to handing over the case to the CBI in case the public are not satisfied with the recommendations of the judicial inquiry.
As and when the High Court gives a formal directive, the State Government will hand over the case to the case without any delay, the Chief Minister assured.

On its part, the State Government has no problem in handing over the case to the CBI, he added.
The Chief Minister further informed that the State Government has discussed the demands of the Apunba Lup.
However, as the case is now in the purview of the law Court, law experts are being consulted in what can be done, he added.
