Advocate of Manipur threatens to launch protest at New Delhi

Lawyers of Manipur have raised their voice against the amendment of advocate act of 1961 by the Law Commission of India and threaten to launch protest at New Delhi.
Speaking at a meeting held at High Court, Manipur complex organise by Bar Council of Manipur (BCM) and All Bar Association of Manipur (ABAM), A Jagjit, Spokesperson of BCM said that few provisions have been added to the existing advocate act 1961.According to a propose amendment, if a lawyer loses a case, he or she liable to pay a sum of Rs 3 lakhs and expenses involve d in the case to the client.
It also allows the advocate from the foreign countries to practice in India, he added.
Jagjit also said that this is a violation of the rights of the lawyers of the country.
Advocates of Manipur will hold a signature campaign and will submit a memorandum to the governor of Manipur weather it will be through the District Magistrate in-order to reach out at Union Government.
Report of the Law Commission will also be burn in front of the complex of High Court, Manipur, he added.
Jagjit further said that if all the submitted terms are fails to approve by the Union Government or authority concern on or before Many 1, 2017, on the next day, i.e, May 2, 2017, will leave for Delhi and protest rally will be carried out from Patiala High Court to Rajgath.
Despite the protest if the concern fails to provide positive response, the lawyers have decided to launch a series of protest against the decision of Law Commission of India to make amendment to the advocate act of 1961, he added.
The protest is part of the protest carried out in the country by the lawyers.
