Awareness programme held

Kakching, April 16 2017:
An awareness programme on "Based line survey, community development and mobilization for the formation of SHGs" was held at JNNURM community centre, Kakching Sumak Leikai today.
The programme was organised under the sponsorship of Development Commissioner Handicraft Ministry of Textiles, Delhi, Government of India as a part of the initiative to identify individuals with handlooms and handicraft skills in the State and to guide them towards success in their fields.
Manipur Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited, Imphal hosted the programme where MANIDCO and Manitron Limited, Manipur chairman Y Radheshyam (MLA), social worker, Kakching M Rameshwor, Kakching Municipal Council councillor S Premita Devi, Deputy Director of Directorate of Handloom and Textiles, Manipur E Jeeten Singh, Assistant Director of Development Commissioner Handicrafts, Imphal, Government of India M Sanjeevkumar Singh and Directorate of Handloom and former Assistant Director of Textiles Manipur W Birenjit Singh were present as dignitaries.
The dignitaries highlighted the need to explore the initiatives taken up for the handicrafts artisans which is yet to reach the whole State adding that there are more than three lakh registered artisans in the State.
Dr Y Radheshyam said that with BJP in power at the Centre and the State, various projects and initiatives have been taken up for the poor people and urged the artisans to take full benefits of the awareness programmes and events organised by the authorities concerned.
