North East to witness heavy rains

Imphal, April 16 2017:
Not even 24 hours have been passed that the low-pressure area has intensified further into a depression which is much likely to give rains over the North Eastern States of the country.
In general, also North East India gets bestowed with good pre-Monsoon showers during this time of the season and with the system approaching towards the State, the rain intensity is further likely to scale up.
The depression which is at presently seen in the west-southwest of Mayabander in Andaman and Nicobar Islands in India will also fuel some hefty showers.
Heavy squalls with thunderstorms are also likely to lash the region.
This depression is seen moving towards the Myanmar coast.
Moreover, as per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is seen over East Assam and adjoining area.
Another trough is also seen extending from the foothills of Uttar Pradesh up to Nagaland across the North Eastern States.
In the wake of this, scattered rains are expected to show up in the North East regions particularly over Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Assam.
Skymet Weather further details that these rains are expected to show up during the late afternoon or evening hours as per the nature of pre-Monsoon showers.
Moreover, these rains are expected to continue for the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, the intensity is predicted to reduce.
