State reports one death, 136 new eases

Imphal, September 13 2021: With daily test capacity continuing to drop gradually, the state on Monday reported 136 new positive cases out of only 1909 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 7.12 per cent against 6.51 per cent recorded on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported one Covid 19 death case in the last 24 hours.

The victim was a resident of Thoubal district and he had not received Covid vaccine.

With this, the cumulative number of deaths from Covid-19 in the state has reached 1812 .

Though the positivity rate remains in single digit; Kamjong (25 per cent), Imphal East (13.2 per cent), Ukhrul (12.3 per cent) and Kakching (10.6 per cent) districts recorded double digit positivity rate.

The active caseload came down to 2617 after recovery and discharge of 265 patients.

Of the active cases, 558 (21.32 per cent) are in home isolation, 814 (31.10 per cent) in CHICs, 769 (29.38 per cent) in CCCs and 476 (18.19 per cent) in hospitals.

Among the hospitalised patients, 98 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 138 are on oxygen support and 35 on ventilator support.

However, there is no report on the number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS, Iland Hospital and LFS Covid Treatment Centre even though these facilities have 160, 18 and 4 patients respectively.

At the same time, 4 patients are also on oxygen support in different CCCs.

As of Monday evening, 580 beds including 104 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.

There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Sunday evening 2703 beds were available in different Covid Care Centres and 338 beds (21 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.

So far, the state has recorded 87,830 positive cases and 1438 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.

The current month recorded 3297 new cases and 30 fatalities out of which 1646 new cases and 10 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.

According to official reports, one of the new positive cases is a Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) jawan while the remaining 135 cases (65 male & 70 female) are from among the general population.

Their samples were confirmed positive for Covid-19 at RIMS (4), JNIMS (6) and other testing centres (126).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (49), Imphal West (38), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (7), Kakching (7), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (3), Chandel (2), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (3), Kamjong (1) and Kangpokpi (3).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

In the last 24 hours, 265 patients were discharged from home isolation (77), RIMS (7), JNIMS (15), CCCs (85) and CHICs(8l).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 117,230 (general population -1,13,058 and CAPF personnel - 4,172).Number of recovered cases is 1,12,801 (general population - 1,08,668 and CAPF personnel - 4,133) and number of active cases is 2,617 (general population - 2,583 and CAPF personnel - 34).The recovery rate is 96.22 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 1205 D-type and 244 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.

Only 699 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 12,00,722, out of which only 3,93,833 are fully vaccinated.

As of Sunday, 95,744 people eligible for second doses of Covid-19 vaccine are yet to get the second shot.

In Kakching district, only two positive cases were detected out of 79 samples tested on Monday.

One was detected at government RAT site and the other at Jiban Hospital.

Both of them are residents of Kakching district, according to DSO Kakching Dr Kesho.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (39,914), Imphal East (25,972), Thoubal (9238), Churachandpur (9879), Kangpokpi (2686), Tamenglong (3232), Bishnupur (8873), Senapati (2139), Ukhrul (2505), Kakching (6285), Chandel (2220), Noney (1053), Tengnoupal (1022), Jiribam (1012), Kamjong (772) and Pherzawl (428).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (601), Imphal East (428), Thoubal (167), Churachandpur (154), Kangpokpi (56), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (184), Senapati (8), Ukhrul (29), Kakching (110), Chandel (34), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0).Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 37,780 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 23,841 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 4,03,599 tests per million population against the national average of 3,88,913 TPM.

Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, only 1909 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 7.12 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.36 per cent.
