RIMS Prof Saratkumar listed for Dronacharya Award

Professor N Saratkumar Singh of Nephrology Department, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has been chosen for honouring with Dronacharya Award.
According to a statement issued by RIMS Nephrology Department head Dr T Brojen, Professor Saratkumar was chosen for Dronacharya Award by Avatar Foundation (Association of Vascular Access and Interventional Renal Physician) and he was earlier conferred Shining Nephrology award by the Time Group during an event held in Goa in March this year.
This is the first time that a nephrologist from Manipur has been chosen for conferring Avatar award which will be pre sented virtually on September 15 .
The AVATAR is the pre-eminent group promoting Intervention Renal Science by supporting and furthering excellence in education, training and scientific research.
This group represents heterogeneous specialists including Intervention Nephrologists, Critical care Nephrologists, Vascular surgeons, vascular radiologists & others irivolved in independent renal intervention procedures in India.
The Group focuses on creation of vascular access, salvage procedures of failing yascular access, CAPD catheter placement and manipulations, Innovative Biopsy techniques and procedures of Critical Care including MARS, CRRT, Plasma exchange and PMX column etc.
The intervention specialists are trained in the diagnosis and management of conditions needing intervention in areas other than transplant and haemodialysis.
