Imphal, December 18 2011:
Condemning the killing of Chowkidar of Irilbung Water Supply Ibomcha and his son Yaiphu after being abducted by armed cadres of KCP (MTF) Kesho Meitei group over a ransom demand of Rs 20 lakhs, the Cordination Committee (CorCom) of seven UG groups (KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK (Pro), RPF, UNLF and UPPK) has denounced its as an inhuman act aimed at misleading the ongoing freedom movement to the world.
In a statement, the CorCom asserted that many anti-social elements have allied with Indian security forces in carrying out anti-social activities like extortion, killing for ransom, kidnapping by using different names of the revolutionary organizations, particularly, the KCP.
Such acts aim at misleading the ongoing freedom movement to the world and are supported by the Indian security forces.
These anti-social elements also participate in fake surrender ceremonies by hiding their faces with scarves.
The CorCom appealed to the people of the state, particularly the people of the localities concerned, to identify them and stay aware of the activities of these anti-social elements.
The statement of the CorCom further stated that such anti-people groups have been harassing the common people, who are working hard to make their both ends meet.
Killing innocent persons for ransom and blaming higher officials for the crime as an alibi; abducting vendors, Pradhan and Members of Panchayat over monetary demand and attacking private houses with bombs are not the character nature a true revolutionary organisation.
Many innocent lives have been lost in the valley areas despite tight security.
In many instances, people have witnessed how the Assam Rifles and the Police Commandos rescued such anti-social people when the local people caught them, CorCom asserted.
Stating that such anti-social activities have been increased over the last few years since the revolutionary organisations could not check them as they used to do in the past, the statement of the CorCom explained that the main reason behind the inability of the revolutionary organisations to check anti-social activities is corrupted nature of the society, torture and threats of the Indian security forces to the people and some mistakes caused by the revolutionary organisations to the people of the state.
These anti- people activities could be curbed only after the strength of the unified revolution is enhanced, the statement maintained, and appealed to the people of the state to support the process of uniting the various revolutionary organisations to root out these anti-social elements.
