Imphal, July 19 2012:
Though the Union Home Ministry has rejected the proposal of re-implementing Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the State after it was recommended by the State Cabinet, the final decision regarding ILP would be known after the resolution of the State Assembly is forwarded to the Ministry.
Speaking to media person, Chief Minister O Ibobi said that the resolution of the State Assembly would be forwarded to the Union Home Ministry very soon.
The decision to re-implement ILP was unanimously taken by the State Assembly and by the Cabinet considering the problems which would be created by uncontrolled entry of outsiders in the small state, he added.
The Chief Minister further said that entry of foreigners can be prohibited if they do not have a valid visa.
But the entry of outsiders from different parts of the country to Manipur is not the right of the state.
