As the country is witnessing a rapid upsurge of new Covid-19 cases, the state on Saturday recorded 76 new positive cases out of 2430 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering a positivity rate of 3.13 per cent against 2.44 per cent recorded on Friday.
One partially vaccinated person also died in the last 24 hours and it took the fatality toll from Covid in the state to 2010 .
The victim was a resident of Imphal West district; With the discharge of only 7 patients from home isolation (6) and CCCs (l) in the last 24 hours, the active caseload rose to 414 out of which 90 (21.74 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, eight reported fresh Covid cases on Saturday.
So far, the state has recorded 96,688 positive cases and 1636 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 300 new positive cases and 8 fatality.
The weekly number of new cases and fatalities have also risen to 281 and 8 respectively.
According to official reports, 71 people (37 male & 34 female) out of the 76 fresh cases are from among the general population and five are personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (72) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (22), Imphal West (9), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (8), Senapati (6), Noney (1), Ukhrul (1) and Churachandpur (19) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,26,088 (general population - 1,21,607 and CAPF personnel - 4,481).Number of recovered cases is 1,23,664 (general population - 1,19,235 and CAPF personnel - 4,429) and number of active cases is 414 (general population - 367 and CAPF personnel - 47) .
The recovery rate has come down to 98.08 per cent.
A total of 106 D-type and 4 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 5397 vaccine doses were administered on Friday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 13,38,158 out of which 10,05,151 have been fully vaccinated.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (44,247), Imphal East (28,018), Thoubal (9524), Churachandpur (10,235), Kangpokpi (2796), Tamenglong (3285), Bishnupur (9260), Senapati (2261), Ukhrul (3016), Kakching (6461), Chandel (2373), Noney (1080), Tengnoupal (1079), Jiribam (1031), Kamjong (958) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (675), Imphal East (481), Thoubal (179), Churachandpur (163), Kangpokpi (63), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (195), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (116), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,634 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 25,253 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,75,352 tests per million population against the national average of 4,91,565 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.59 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2430 samples were tested and the.single day positivity rate was 3.13 per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.55 per cent.
