MLA Nemcha intensifies vaccination campaign

With an aim to accelerate the pace of Covid vaccination in Kangpokpi AC, MLA Nemcha Kipgen has intensified the awareness campaign by involving personally in coordination with COVID Task Forces of Kangpokpi.
After a successful campaign in Tujang area, the local MLA had a meeting with the village authority, women society and youth association of Keithelmanbi and discussed in length about COVID-19 vaccination in the village.
With Keithelmanbi village being one of the villages with lowest percentage in COVID vaccination under Kangpokpi AC, the MLA in collaboration with the COVID Task Force Keithelmanbi embarked on the extensive awareness campaign.
The Task Force put up different banners which read, 'The People of Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency is grateful to our Prime Minister for providing free vaccine and free rice and Pi Nemcha Kipgen for providing free transportation' .
The local MLA also provided 5 kg of rice and 2 kg of dal each to more than 150 people who do not have ration cards in Keithelmanbi village.
Meanwhile, MLA Nemcha visited the vaccination site at PHSC Keithelmanbi and appreciated those who willingly came forward for vaccination while exhorting them to disseminate information and spread the message to their neighbours and villages when they returned to their respective villages.
Around 150 people were vaccinated during the vaccination drive held at Keithelmanbi Monday.
Another vaccination drive in Keithelmanbi will be held on July 10.On the other hand, Kangpokpi district reported another COVID death on Monday pushing the death toll to 41.The latest victim Jangtinlen Guite (37), son of Thangsei Guite of Chingdai Khullen succumbed to COVID on Monday at about 11 am.
He was tested COVID-19 positive on June 30 at Samaritan Nursing Home, Churachan-dpur, and brought for home isolation after notifying the authority concerned.
He was taken to RIMS hospital on Monday morning but declared brought dead.
