The Coordination Committee (CorCom) of seven UG groups has claimed responsibility for the bomb left at the residence of former Chairman of ICM Phurailatpam Guneshwore at Brahmapur Laishram Leirak in the intervening night of January 25 and 26 as well as for the firing attack at the Yairipok Kekru residence of Moulvi Mubarak, who is a BCC President, in the wee hours yesterday.
According to a spokesperson of CorCom, not long after the firing attack at the residence of Moulvi Mubarak, few rounds have also been opened fire by armed cadres of CorCom at the Yairipok Bamon Leikai residence of Nokul, who is a Councillor as well as Chairman of BCC.
The spokesperson further claimed that planting of the bomb at the Palace Compound Thangapat Mapal residence of Wairokpam Tomba in the intervening night of January January 26 and 27 and the bomb blast at the Tera Sapam Leirak residence of Khwairakpam Ibobi early morning today were also carried out by CorCom cadres.
CorCom has also claimed responsibility for the last night's bomb/firing attacks at the residences of Kh Ingo of Irengbam Awang Leikai, Irengbam Gambhir of Irengbam Makha Mayai Leikai, Kshetrimayim Mamcha of Waheng Khuman Mayai Leikai, Moirangthem Chaoba of Ingourok and Khundrakpam Ibotombi of Khangabok Mayai Leikai as well as for the similar attacks at the residence of Laiphrakpam Khomdon of Yairipok Yambem Mathak Leikai in the night of January 25 and for planting of the bomb at the residence of one Ahanthem Kunjo of Sawombung High School Maning in the night yesterday.
Moreover, the spokesperson of CorCom said that the bomb explosion which took place near Shyamasakhi High School at around 8.45 am yesterday during the course of general strike called to boycott the Republic Day celebration had been triggered its cadres.
However, a bomb which was planted near Sanjenthong in the night of January 25 could not been triggered as the police detected and picked it up.
