Three killed in mishaps

Imphal, January 27, 2012:
At least three persons were killed in three different road accidents in the state in the last two days.
In one of the incidents, a 60 years old man was killed after being hit by speeding Maruti car near Thongju Pechu Lampak along the Indo-Myanmar Road yesterday at around 3.45 pm.
The victim identified as one Khundrakpam Khelendro son of late Kh Angangjao of Kha Naorem Leikai was riding a bicycle when the car bearing registration number DL 4CAD-0190 hit him.
He was rushed to the JNIMS hospitals, Porompat from where he was referred to Raj Polyclininc at North AOC.
He succumbed to his injuries there.
Singjamei Police have seized the car and registered a case.
In another incident an autorikshaw driver was killed yesterday at around 8.30 pm and two of its passengers were injured when the autorikshaw he was driving met with an accident at Kadangban Taklou area under Lamshang Police Station where the roadside was dug up for water pipeline repairing.
The deceased, autorickshaw driver, has been identifed as Ningthoujam Roto (60) of Koutruk Ching Leikai.
The injured passengers were rushed to RIMS hospital.
In yet another incident, an autorikshaw driver was killed yesterday afternoon at around 3.50 pm after a speeding car hit the autorikshaw which was parking near NB College under Heingang Police Station.
The ill-fated driver was identified as Sanabam Robindro (29) son of S Samu of Tangkham Awang Leikai.
The dead body was handed over to his family members after post mortem at the RIMS mortuary.
