Kuki CSOs meet Rajnath

Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) and other Kuki Civil Society Organizations met the Union Minister for Home Affairs Rajnath Singh at Raj Bhavan on Friday and apprised him of the grievances and problems faced by the Kukis.

KIM; Dr..TLunkim, Chairman, Kuki Organization for Human Rights and Paotinthang Lupheng President, KSO-GHQ also submitted a memorandum to Union Minister of Home in the presence of Kiren Rejiju, Minister of State (Home) and Shambu Singh, IAS, Joint Secy.

In the memorandum signed by Thangkhosei Haokip, President KIM and Dr..TLunkim, Chairman, KOHR placed the alleged long unattended but important case of "genocide and crimes" of NSCN (IM) while seeking amicable settlement in proper courts in the country.

The memorandum said that NSCN (IM) allegedly murdered 905 innocent Kukis including women (some pregnant), children, aged and invalid while uprooting 360 villages and seized their land besides and making 100,000 peoples refugees in their own land.
The matter has been brought to the notice of five successive Prime Ministers and to Rajnath Singh as Home Minister under the sixth Prime Minister, said the memorandum.
The Kuki organisations further added that the whole matter should be settled in the proper Courts in the country for justice and peace before any kind of settlement could be arrived at with NSCN (IM) "fighting against" the Indian Government.
The Kuki Inpi would never accept any agreement or solution before settlement of the crimes committed by NSCN (IM)asserted the memorandum.
It also claimed over 60 memoranda had been submitted in the past and appealed the Union Home Minister to take immediate action to bring about justice, said Thangkhosei Haokip and Dr..TLunkim in the memorandum.
