Francis announces mega projects in Senapati

To propagate harmony and prosperity among the people of every segment in the region, the Naga People's Organization (NPO) organized an indigenous carnival with an advent "Lui-Ngai-Ni" celebration under the theme "Sowing Goodwill, Reaping Understanding" at Senapati HQ Public Ground on Saturday.
The event was attended by PR & RD Minister Francis Ngajokpa, as the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner of Senapati Jacinta Lazarus, Chairman of COHSEM C Arthur, Joint Secretary to Government of Nagaland Yaoni Angami, and Senapati ADC CEO Rang Peter.
Speaking on the occasion, minister Francis Ngajokpa announced that adequate funds for construction of IIIT, polytechnic, upgradation of 50-bedded hospital to 100-bedded, construction of 10MVA power stations at Mao and Mayangkhang, development of four lanes along NH-2 and mega sports complex at Senapati public ground have been approved by the Government.

The DoNER sponsored 50-bedded district hospital has been approved by the State Cabinet for upgradation to 100-bedded hospital.
The lifeline of the state, National Highway-2 passing through Senapati district would also be expanded to four lanes in a major move to link with the ASEAN countries, the minister said.
Francis also conveyed his profound appreciation to NPO, SDSA and various associations for maintaining a peaceful environment for the past three years in Senapati district, and appealed to all to cooperate with the Government in taking up such mega projects in the district.
He also extended the greetings of Governor, Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister to the people on the occasion of Lui-Ngai-Ni festival to be celebrated on February 15 .
Wishing the people on the occasion of Lui-Ngai-Ni festival, Deputy Commissioner Jacintha Lazarus said that this 'seed sowing festival' is not only about agriculture, but it is also about peace and unity among the people.
