Rishang-Rajnath hold close-door meeting

Former Chief Minister and MP Rishang Keishing had a closed-door meeting with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at Raj Bhavan here on Saturday.
According to a reliable source, the nonagenarian politician Rishang Keishing briefed the Union Home Minister about the present law and order situation of the state.
The meeting lasted for about an hour.
Former Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly and State BJP leader Dr Haobam Borbabu also met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday.
The details of their meeting could not be ascertained.
However, sources said the meeting could be related to the affairs of State BJP.
Meanwhile, former candidate of Heingang Assembly Constituency N Ratan alias Kapu submitted a memorandum to the Union Home Minister urging him to take up strict measures to end illegal taxation by NSCN (IM) and other Suspension of Operation (SoO) outfits along the national highways; raise Manipur Regiment in the Indian Army; extend Saurashtra to Silchar Express Highway up to Moreh via Imphal etc.
