Petrol price costliest in Pherzawl district

Imphal, April 10 2022:
With price of petroleum products increasing almost on daily basis in the past couple of weeks, the rate of petrol has crossed Rs 110 per litre in the state.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra has the highest petrol and diesel prices in the country With one litre of petrol costing Rs 120.51 and diesel costing Rs 104.77 in the state's capital city Mumbai.
In Manipur, Pherzawl district has the highest petrol price at Rs 112.09 per litre.
As per report received from IOCL, prices of petrol and diesel were hiked by Rs 10 in the last 16 days but the price remained unchanged in the last four days.
The last time the state witnessed rise in fuel price was on April 6 with a hike of 80 paise per litre on both petrol and diesel.
The source further said that petrol price in different districts of the state as on Saturday was Rs 110.26 in Imphal East, Rs 110.31 in Imphal West, Rs 110.31 in Bishnupur, Rs 110.73 in Chandel, Rs 110.57 in Kakching, Rs 110.62 in Kangpokpi, Rs 110.74 in Senapati, Rs 111.01 in Ukhrul, Rs 110.31 in Churachandpur, Rs 112.09 in Pherzawl, Rs 110.65 in Noney, Rs 111.69 in Tamenglong, Rs 111.19 in Tengnoupal and Rs 110.44 in Thoubal.
Fuel price differs from state to state as a result of tax rates.
In the last 18 days, petrol price was hiked 18 times.
The hike in fuel price began from March 22 onwards.
As a result of the hike in fuel price, other commodities are also witnessing price hike due to increased trans portation and production cost thereby making a dent in the pocket of common people.
