Thoubal, April 10 2022:
Condemning the alleged indifferent attitude of the government towards families in Wangjing Tentha AC, who faced attacks in election-related violence perpetrated by INC workers, the disgruntled families staged a sit-in protest at Tentha Khongbal on Sunday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, a protestor identified as Moirangthem Sanatombi contended that Congress workers assaulted BJP workers and even burnt houses one day prior to the election.
The government failed to take actions against the perpetrators though complaints have been lodged to authorities concerned, she lamented.
Stating that the victim families are taking shelter in the houses of other people, Sanatombi demanded the government to take actions against the culprits involved in the violence.
She also urged to look into the matter seriously so as to prevent such incident in the future.
The protestors held placards inscribed with slogans condemning burning of houses and attacking people with knife in connection with election in Tentha.
