Imphal, March 27, 2014:
In an unconventional political move, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur Pradesh on Thursday released its election manifesto for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency separately.
Releasing the manifesto which highlights good governance, development, social security, territorial integrity and transparency as the five top commitment of the party, BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba said that the separate election manifesto for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, which will go to poll on April 9, has been released following instruction given by the Central leaders of the party.
A separate election manifesto for the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency would be released on March 30, he informed.
The State BJP's separate manifestoes for the Lok Sabha polls can be regarded as one of its distinctive political strategies.
In the manifesto for the Outer Parliamentary seat, the saffron party has promised significant improvement in all the areas that have become challenges for the people in the Outer constituency.
It also pledges to distribute equal benefits to the entitled beneficiaries of the hill given by the Government like special financial assistance and various schemes.
Deprivation of basic amenities such as water, electricity, road connectivity, education and health in the hill is chiefly because of the failure of the Ibobi Government in all fronts, Chaoba charged.
During the past one decade all the BJP-ruled States in the country have tasted the bliss of the attainment of freedom by India whereas here in Manipur, the Congress regime is looting the people, Chaoba further alleged.
He also said the BJP is committed to bring a new face of change in the State and make a completely new Imphal city if the BJP comes to power at the Centre.
Obviously referring to the Congress and the Gandhi family, the State BJP chief said that no one wants dynastic rule in India any more.
People want a Government for themselves.
Despite the title being given to Manipur as a sports power house, the players of the State who have brought laurels to the Conutry have been denied facilities, the BJP leader accused.
BJP is also mulling establishing a sports university for the State, he assured.
Chaoba categorically stated that BJP is now confident of winning almost 270 seats in the coming national election.
He said the State BJP also hopes to sweep the two Lok Sabha seats in the state.
BJP Inner seat candidate RK Ranjan, BJP Inttelectual Cell convenor Dr Joykumar and other party leaders attended the programme.
However, Outer constituency candidate of the party Prof Gangmumei Kamei could not attend the event as he has left for Tamenglong and Jiribam for a poll canvass.
