Imphal, August 11, 2012:
Turning over the table, Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) has categorically alleged that volunteers of Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) have been inciting communal hatred by misleading the public that they are being threatened by KRA.
Demanding resignation of the involved volunteers from SDSA, KRA has also warned of taking up action against them in case of failure.
Addressing media persons today, P Shimte, Information and Publicity Secretary, KRA informed that a team of SDSA members, who were all drunk, came in a vehicle from Imphal towards Senapati on the evening of August 9.When they reached the Taxation Office at Henbung, they found the road closed on security grounds.
Being drunk, they got irritated and broke the barricade along the NH 2.They also broke the gate of the Taxation office and beat up the officials.
Later, SDSA called more volunteers from Senapati as reinforcement and they started creating troubles inside the Taxation Office.
The reinforcement party was also drunk, Shimte said.
Seeing the violent situation, KRA cadres, who were present at the spot coincidentally, went in and tried to calm down the situation.
However, the SDSA volunteers used offensive and communal remarks even to the extent of saying "What can the Kukis do?" Noneteless, the KRA cadres managed to control the situation.
But it was later learnt that SDSA incited feelings of communal hatred and closed down Senapati bazaar on the ground alleging that KRA cadres threatened them, Shimte said.
He further said that KRA would not take the issue lightly.
The volunteers of SDSA, who were all drunk, should resign as they are unfit to run an organization.
The truth of the whole incident can be known from the staffs of the Taxation office.
The ATO of the office is also undergoing treatment after being beaten by the volunteers of SDSA, he added.
