Assam riot effect: Eight Manipuri attacked in Pune

In an impact of the ongoing communal riots in neighboring Assam, some of the Manipuri people, mainly students were attacked by unidentified miscreants in Maharashtra's Pune.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao over the phone, Pune Manipuri Student's Association's Ex-President, Raees Ahamad said that around eight persons were attacked by supporters of Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators.
In past two-three days in Pune Camp and Kondhwa Khurd areas.
He informed that with the formation of an interim forum, a meeting was conducted at Kondhwa Police Station on Friday to discuss the preventive measure from further possible attacks by miscreants who support infiltration of Bangladeshi Muslims.
In the meeting, which was attended by various local authorities; Local police inspector, Dy Police Commissioner, local MLA, Municipal Corporators, Muslim leaders, and delegates from North East Organisations, a firm decision was taken to protect the North East community from further attacks by local people.
Raees Ahamad further informed that local authority people who attended the meeting would be taking the responsibility in any further attacks on people from Northeast and they have given their personal contact numbers so as to contact at the time of such attacks.
