Court remands father to police custody son & mother absconding

Ukhrul, February 12 2013:
A court on Monday remanded Andibas Horam, who is the father of Jim Horam and co-accused in the child torture case, to police custody in Ukhrul.
On Monday, police produced Horam in the Ukhrul CJM court and subsequently granted remand in police custody for further interrogation.
The main accused Jim Horam and his mother Eta, both reportedly government employees, are absconding.
Ukhrul SP K Kabib assured that the other accused - son and mother, would be arrested very soon and put them on trial according to the law.
It is reported that police are yet to prepare the prima facie of the case.
On Monday evening, the district police chief instructed his subordinates led by a lady official to do the needful.
On Saturday, an FIR was lodged and case (NO.11(2) 2013) under section 326/307/34 of IPC was registered.
Zingtun Tangkhul Katamnao Long has also visited the victim's family and submitted an appeal letter to the district authorities.
While condemning the incident as a grave case of child torture, ZTKL asserted that it will never leave anything to bring the culprits to book and be punished befittingly.
As the physical condition of the child girl is serious, the police reportedly asked the family members to get the child another medical examination.
The victim is said to be still in shock state and require medical care.
