CWC visits victim

Imphal, February 12 2013:
After a joint meeting with the JJB, the Ukhrul CWC today visited the nine-year-old girl who was brutally assaulted by the son of the house where she had been a maid.
The young girl was found with her left collar bone dislocated; her left hand bone fractured, and suffered multiple injuries on several parts of her body.
After undergoing medical treatment in a private hospital, the victim is presently battling her trauma at one of her relatives' house in Ukhrul.
The CWC team interacted with the young girl's parental relatives.
According to one of the parental relatives, the victim's father had died while she was in her early childhood and her mother remarried recently leaving all her five children, all below the age of 15 years.
It was also revealed that the victim's elder sister is currently at children home, two other siblings are at their native village with relatives and elder sister is a maid somewhere in Ukhrul.
The committee assured every possible help to the victim and her siblings.
Meanwhile, Ukhrul CWC submitted a letter to the Director of Social Welfare seeking immediate assistance in favour of the victim who is badly in need of further medical attention.
