'Cong flagship prog violates village custom'

By not seeking prior permission or consent for the holding the flagship training programme of Congress on May 13 at Longmai, the organizers of the programme has humiliated the village authority, alleged the Longmai Village Authority today.
The Longmai Village Authority, in a statement signed by its secretary Ading Golmei, said that no formal permission or consent was sought by the organizers or congress workers to conduct the programme even though they knew that a village is govern by village authority and Pei according to their custom.
"This is a humiliation and by-passing the village administration by some political activists with their muscle and money powers," Ading said in the statement.
He further revealed that Soihem Haomei, chairman of Tamenglong ADC was not appeared in the court of Longmai Village Authority "to give testimony how be disturbed the coming of MP Thangso Baite to inaugurate BSNL tower at Longmai organised by the village authority threatening of law and order situation and leadership crisis of the village" .
It also asked why and how he (Soihem) DEC-I, president Tamenglong district, dare to organise and enter and participate such a function at their village.
The village concerned is not accepted the "informal flagship programme" in the village at Longmai on account of bypassing the village administration.
The village will warmly welcome and extend maximum co-operation to hold such a function if a mutual understanding is brought about and happens to seek prior permission, the statement asserted and warned that they will not bear responsible for any untoward incident for holding the programme.
