Imphal, May 10 2011:
The state government is not paying any attention for the welfare of the Lainingthou Sanamahi and Leimarel Sidabi Temple situated at Haying Khongbal Tolong Yumpham, according to a reliable source.
According to the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board Act 1976, board members including president of the board should be elected every three years.
However government is not appointing new board since the present board's tenure ended on September 25, 2007.Moreover the government is not taking up any action to develop the essential infrastructures of the temple.
President, Irengbam Lukhoi in an interview said that there is no toilet for the temple which is a necessary requirement.
The age old pond inside the campus of 1st MR which is associated with the temple has also been acquired by the MR personnel.
MR personnel restricted the officials and devotees of the temple from collecting water from the pond.
The only water they are using is the water which they begged from the water tankers of the MR personnel.
