Imphal, December 04 2013 :
Social Welfare and Cooperative Minister AK Mirabai has warned the agitating employees of Manipur State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) of strict action if they do not resume their duty by tomorrow.
Addressing media persons at her office chamber here today, Minister AK Mirabai said that the process for appointment of MSC Bank's CEO is underway with advertisements already put up in several local and national papers.
However, the process is somehow delayed due to RBI's strict instruction that the upper age limit of Bank CEO should not exceed 55 years, she noted.
Moreover, the Government has formed a screening committee and an implementation committee to oversee the development of MSCB.
All files for the bank are being processed at the level of Chief Minister, the Minister informed, adding that she had also already made appeal to the striking employees to resume their work twice.
She further stated that the revival package for banks has been closed by the Ministry of Finance way back in 2008 due to the country's unsound economy.
Other states except Mizoram have also been deprived of such package.
Terming the strike as unfortunate, Mirabai ordered the employees of MSCB to resume their normal duty from tomorrow without fail or face the consequences.
