Store closed down for selling expired food products

Imphal, December 04 2013 :
A wholesale store "MK Enterprises" located at Majorkhul has been closed down by Food Safety officials for selling expired food products to the consumers here today.
The store is owned by one Suresh Kumar Jain, s/o Nirmal Jain of Dharmasala opposite to Nirmalabas School.
The shut down was ordered after a team led by Deputy Food Safety Commissioner Th Brojendro Khaba and SI S Basanta of City Police Station raided the store and godown of Suresh Kumar.

Expired packaged beverages under the brand name of Fanta, Amul Cool, Coca-Cola and Sprite were found both in the store and godown.
Some of the products were found pasted with the label "Not for Sale" .
Later, the proprietor of the store was summoned to appear before the Food Safety officials at Lamphelpat tomorrow, and instructed him to shut down the store till further order.
