Butcher & Slaughter Association Moreh vice president, Hausuonhang Zou has appealed to the State Government to allow transportation of pigs along the Imphal-Moreh road.
Speaking to media persons, Hausuonhang Zou stated that the outbreak of African Swine Fever has been successfully controlled and no new cases have been reported over the recent past, it is time for the Government to consider the plight of the butchers and others dealing in pigs.
He appealed to the Government to revoke the restrictions imposed on transportation, sale of pig, pork, feed and related items in Borer Town Moreh and along Imphal-Moreh road.
Hausuonhang Zou further urged the State Government and Department concerned to look into the restriction imposed by Assam Rifles Khudengthabi Check Post on the number of vehicles carrying pigs along Imphal-Moreh road.
