Imphal, September 30 2022:
Keishamthong AC MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam has stated that plans are afoot to upgrade the Lamyanba Irabot Memorial Complex located at Pishumthong Oinam Leikai.
The MLA was speaking as chief guest at the 126th birth anniversary of Lamyanba Irabot held at the memorial complex under the joint initiative of Irabot Memorial Charitable Trust (IMCT) and the Lamyanba Irabot Khongul Tung Inba Lup (LIKTIL) .
Nishikant said that development of a memorial complex started around 22 years back at the birth place of the popular leader following which a life size statue was installed at the same complex.
Recently, IMTC and Team Nishikant renovated the memorial complex and the statue with the help of Environment and Climate Change Joint Director Dr Tourangbam Brajakumar, he said.

Apart from planting grass, the memorial complex would be expanded on both sides, the MLA said.
Nishikant said that he joined politics in the interest of Manipur in general and Keishamthong AC in particular, not for personal gain.
He pledged that he would fulfil all the assurances he gave to the people during the last Assembly election and fully discharge his duties of being an MLA.
"Even though I never sought favours from any one in my life, I have been requesting many Ministers repeatedly in the interest of Keishamthong AC to take up different works within the Assembly segment", he said.
He said that construction/repairing of six roads has been going on within Keishamthong AC under the Government's 100 Days Action Programme.
Moreover, efforts are on to complete construction/repairing of 16 other roads within the winter season, he informed the gathering.
The MLA also feted two students of Hijam Irabot Memorial Public School who bagged gold medals in an International Taekwondo Championship held recently at Kathmandu as well as other participants and the coach.
The gathering offered tributes to the statue of Hijam Irabot and stood in silence for a minute.
IMCT chairman and LIKTIL founder Khoisnam Chingkheinganba (Japan) Meetei presided the function.
