Free education for disadvantaged students

Students belonging to underprivileged families from the State as well as Myanmar and Tripura have been provided free education at Slopeland Public School, Khongjom.
During a press meet held at the school, Principal N Babulin asserted that the school has welcomed deprived students of the State as well as from other States without any help from the Government or any entity while claiming that Slopeland could be regarded as the first school to provide free education from class I to X, to students of destitute families from outside the State.
With the completion of 16 years of its establishment on February 2, he said that the school will invite 200 disadvantaged students for classes from I to X from Khongjom and Wangjing.
He added that students from Mizoram, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland have also come to study at Slopeland Public School.
The Principal appealed other private schools in the State to provide free education to disadvantaged students as well.
